Water Cooler tells the story of Bobby Fisher, a young man who is fed up with his career in a cubicle who finally decides to do something about. But to get to the boss's office, he must first get by an assortment of co-workers - each with their own bizarre little issues to deal with and opinions about what Bobby should do. Andrew Kowalyshyn played Bobby and Carl Anderson played his boss. Bobby's co-workers were played by Matt Baca, Ashley Rose McEwen (CASA), Leigh Ann Hubbard (CASA), Sean Harrington, Chris Clothier (CASA), Lara Van Liere and Alex Oliver (CASA). Chrissy Offutt played a rival manager trying to get Bobby on "his" team and Steve Hackman played the company's president. Great performances by all of the above. The movie was masterfully shot by Ken Hendricks and post-sound editing was done by Todd Bradley. Patrick also produced and edited the piece. October 3, 2005: "The Goal" has been selected to screen at the 24th International Sports Movie & TV Festival in Mumbai, India in March 2006. October 2, 2005: "The Goal" has received it's second award in it's second film festival! Here are the details: IFFF
INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARD Originally designed IFFF trophy by Shlomi Haziza The award will honor those who have created characters that speak to the depth of the family experience and offer an audience an insight into the deep well of emotions generated within a family. Their work may have made us cry, laugh or talk, but will have moved us because of our own family experiences. Chris Shoemaker, Executive Director and co-Founder of The 11th Annual International Family Film Festival had this to say: "The Goal must be seen on the big screen in order to get the full impact. What was refreshing is that you can hear the audience breathing with the film. They cry, laugh, and feel, they even applaud. It's an excellent family film that allows you to see how strong the human spirit can be". October 2005: This month we'll be continuing production on "Who Loves the Sun". Please be sure to watch for the first "Production Profiles" featuring "The Goal" on the Emmy nominated "Dropframe" in July on KBDI Channel 12. May 6. 7, 8, 2005: This weekend we wrapped principal photography on "The Goal". We were at Craig Hospital as well as Swedish Hospital where we shot some Air Life helicopter footage from their roof. "The Goal" is going to be an incredible motion picture, thanks to the wonderful acting talent of the cast, and the monumental efforts put forth by the dauntless crew. "The Goal" is going to be much more than just a movie. Darla Rae, Jason Regier, Ryan Parker, Gale Grove, Steve Sanner, Wendy Duncan, Jay Wyss, Ken Hendricks, Peter Bily, Brandon Perna, Jeremy Sandberg, Mary Lee Hermann, Rado Bily, Troy Sandberg, Nancy Shepard, Kas Shipp, and many, many more have a lot to be proud of. Post production will start immediately and the target date for a finished edit is July 1st. April 29, 30, May 1, 2005: "The Goal" is coming together quite nicely. This weekend we shot a lot of very emotional scenes. Our poor cast and crew put a lot of real blood, sweat, tears, (and more!) into the production. We had our star Ryan Parker strapped to a gurney with wires and tubes all over his body. Then we put him in a "halo" which is designed to keep the patient's head and neck completely immobile by screws that are embedded into the skull. Of course Ryan spent most of the weekend in a wheel chair as well. Ken H got to spend some time in a wheel chair too. We shot some fantastic P.O.V. footage out on the court in the middle of a Quad Rugby game. We got a lot of fast action Quad Rugby stuff that included a spectacular crash. Special thanks to Craig Hospital for the use of their facilities. Without their help, this movie would not be possible to make. Next weekend we'll be back at Craig, and if all goes well, we will wrap principal photography. April 21, 22, 23, 24, 2005: This weekend was a busy one, to say the least. We continued production for "The Goal" by invading a Littleton home for four days. The cast gave some stellar performances, proving that you don't need to go to Hollywood to find good actors. The crew did a great job too, managing to set up, light, and shoot almost 40 scenes. A huge THANK YOU goes out to the Sears family for the use of their beautiful home. For the next two weekends we'll be shooting at Craig Hospital. April 15, 16, 2005: Principal photography for "The Goal" is moving along very well. This weekend found us shooting in Turkey Creek Canyon. We shot a camping scene, a bicycle crash, and the rescue scene. Mark Grove of Asgard Entertainment coordinated all of the stunts. We got some fantastic footage of our star, Ryan Parker, flying over the handlebars, flying through the air, landing on the ground, and sliding down into a ravine. We couldn't have done it without Mark's brilliant expertise and Ryan's incredible acting and stunt skills. The rescue scene included a full-on mountain rescue team with a fire truck and an ambulance. They really gave us their all, and made the scene totally authentic. "The Goal" is going to be a fantastic film! April 8, 9, 2005: The second weekend of production for "The Goal" went nicely. We had originally scheduled to shoot on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The news that a huge snow storm was on it's way prompted us to try to shoot all of Sunday's footage on Friday. We managed to get everything done on Friday and Saturday. We shot in five different locations and got some beautiful footage. Heather Domko and Szymon Kubica from KBDI Channel 12 came to the set on Saturday and shot some behind the scenes and some interview footage for the first "Production Profiles" segment of the Emmy nominated show "Dropframe". Ken H is the executive producer of "Production Profiles". April 3, 2003: The second day of production for "The Goal" found us shooting a telephone conversation in an apartment. After that we went on to shoot a beautiful "date" scene at The Fort restaurant in Morrison, CO. We had two main characters, about a dozen extras, and very little space to work in. The restaurant staff took very good care of us, the cameras performed great, and we got what we needed. All in all, a most productive day! April 2, 2005: Today was the first day of production for "The Goal". We shot in a church with over 300 extras, including a 75 piece choir. Things took longer than we expected, but we got the footage that we needed. Ken H operated camera #1 and handled all of the lighting. April 2005: Principal photography for the feature film, "The Goal" starts on April 2nd. We are scheduled to shoot every weekend in April and we should be finishing up sometime towards mid May. Ken H will be in charge of the crew and we'll be shooting 16:9 aspect ratio and 24 fps progressive on 2 Canon XL2 cameras. Audio will be recorded to DAT. March 24, 2005: This Thursday night we are shooting some segments to be used in the feature film "Do It For Johnny". We'll be shooting at the KBDI Channel 12 Studio. Ken H and Jeffie D will be doing the camera work. Haylar Garcia is directing and we'll be shooting some interviews with Scott Baxendale as well. March 2005: We have added a brand new Canon XL2 to our arsenal of video tools, thanks to Darla Rae and "The Goal". Ken H has been selected as Director of Photography for this feature length film. We last heard about "The Goal" in January of 2004. We were scheduled to begin shooting then, but things didn't work out at that time. Well, "The Goal" is back and this time it's going to happen! We are currently finishing up some preproduction stuff, and principal photography begins in April. February 2005: Sometime this month, Ken H will be helping, Shawn Anderson (of Anderson Live Media) with shooting some stuff for the feature length "Corporate America Rocks". Haylar and Jeffie D are headed to the Oscar Ceremony to Do It For Johnny this month. Good luck, guys! On the 26th, the Emmy Nominated "Dropframe" begins it's second season. Be sure to catch it at 10:00PM on KBDI Channel 12. January 2005: Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes for a prosperous year to all. I guess there have been reports of people selling bootleg copies of "Freddy Vs. Ghostbusters" on Ebay. Congratulations Hank, you've "arrived"! December 2004: Happy Holidays! Our short film "Up For Grabs," featuring Robert Markle and Sebastian the cat has been selected for use in teaching Final Cut Pro students at Metropolitan State College in Denver.
